CCF Biennial Inspection at Kinmel Training Area on 18th April 2012
The entire Combined Cadet Force contingent managed to get away from school to have a great day at Kinmel Training Area in April, firstly so that our Headquarters in Brecon could carry out our biennial inspection, and, much more importantly, so we all could have great fun.
The whole day was organised by Captain Ann Bunn, and everyone else helped with stands and other support. Mr Maurice Linaker ran a first aid stand, using a dummy known as ‘Flight Lieutenant Ponsonby-Smythe’; Capt Louise Carus tested everyone’s improvised shelter making skills, by simulating rainfall with a mug of water; Mrs Emma Williams ran the command task where lots of shouting helped a blind-folded team find their way around sensitive objects; Captain Ann Bunn and Mr Tomos Bennett ran the obstacle course and Flt Lt Phil Roberts and Major Brad Percival ran the range for the CambrianPatrol team.
The highlight for the RAF Section was a 10 minute flight in a Griffin helicopter from RAF Shawbury, near Shrewsbury.
As usual, our cadets demonstrated exemplary behavior and were excellent ambassadors for St. Brigid’s – well done to all.
