Maths Read and write whole numbers to 10000.Recognise relationship between Th, H, T and U. Know multiplication as repeated addition and arrays. Understand division as inverse of multiplication, divide whole numbers, find remainders. Addition and subtraction: number pairs to 100/1000. Know names of, describe and visualise common shapes. Use standard metric units of length: mm, cm, m, km. Understand and measure area as covering 2 dimensions. Use

and interpret tally charts and frequency tables. Tell time on analogue and 24hr clock to nearest minute, use am/pm. Recognise fractions and mixed numbers.

Count on and back in 1s, 10s, 100s or

1000s from any whole number up to 100 000. Compare and order numbers up to 10 000. Recognise properties of adding/subtracting odd/even numbers. Recognise negative numbers in context.

Derive doubles/halves of multiples of

10–500/100–5000. Classify and sketch 2D shapes according to concept of symmetry. Describe and visualise 3D shapes. Use scales; know relationship between standard units of capacity. Measure perimeter; know difference between area/perimeter. Construct and interpret bar graphs. Use known number facts and place value to add/subtract two 2-digit numbers. Add HTU using formal/informal written methods, estimate and check by approximating.  Recognise equivalence of decimal and fraction forms of 1/2s and 1/10s.

Round 3-digit numbers to 10 or 100; round money to £; make estimates.

Multiply/divide integers by 10 or 100, multiply by 5 or 20 by halving/doubling. Subtract HTU – TU, HTU – HTU using informal/standard  written method of complementary addition. Know  multiplication/division facts up to 10 x; recognise patterns and relationships. Use

clockwise/anticlockwise turns. Know angles are measured in degrees; know relationship between degrees and right angles.
