Welcome to the Physical Education Department
Here at St Brigid's we aim to make your PE experience a good one. We offer a wide variety of sports within lessons, promoting many qualities that sport offers such as Leadership, Sportsmanship, Teamwork and moralistic behaviours. Everyone immediately thinks of the practical elements, but have you ever considered how often sporting issues are discussed?
As you progress through the school we offer WJEC Award in PE and BTEC Level 3 in Sport at KS5. During these courses we still offer some practical elements, but discover the wide range of sporting theory, such as Anatomy and Physiology, Skill Acquistion, Sports Psychology and Contemporary Issues.
Away from the classroom we aim to offer many opportunities with extra curricular sport, both with lunch time clubs and the chance to represent school against others in competition. It's a different way to shine in school!
Where can I progress with this subject and famous quotes
Ultimately you can go where you want to go with sports qualifications, it depends what field you wish to specialise in. There are varieties of University courses, but also vocational pathways. Sport is constantly developing and you have the opportunity to fulfil your goals and utilise your potential. Even if its is not the way you want your life to go the continuation of being fit and healthy is one reason why sport is so important in your life. A healthy body equals a healthy mind. Sport should always play a part in your life.
"Don't be afraid to have dreams" Chris Coleman
"It's amazing to get one Olympic Gold, but you have to be a legend to get two, and this is definitely my aim". Jade Jones
